When you pick a language, the site sets a single first-party cookie named NEXT_LOCALE so your next visit opens in the same language. It holds nothing but a two-letter language code, lives for up to one year, and is read only by this site. That is the complete inventory — the table above is not a summary, it is the whole list.
Because this cookie is strictly functional, it requires no consent banner — which is why you have not seen one.
What this site does not use
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no self-hosted analytics, no page-view counters of any kind.
- No marketing trackers. No advertising pixels, no retargeting, no social media widgets or embedded like buttons.
- No third-party cookies. Nothing on this site sets a cookie for any domain other than this one.
No advertising anywhere. Version 1.4.0 removed the advertising SDK from the Android app entirely. Neither this site nor the app shows ads, uses the advertising identifier, or shares any device identifier for advertising purposes. The privacy policy explains what that change meant in practice.
Managing the cookie
You can delete or block the NEXT_LOCALE cookie at any time through your browser’s settings. The only consequence is that the site will fall back to detecting your preferred language from your browser on each visit instead of remembering your explicit choice.
